The photos above show the progression of caring for a venerable and much loved line of sugar maples for a longtime customer in Whitefield, ME. We had to begin by removing a declining and hazardous tree that was growing between the two healthier trees. We returned a few months later for another visit to remove deadwood and prune the remaining two trees. It’s always a pleasure to work on such old trees to make them safe and enjoyable for years to come.

Here, we are taking down a large and hazardous oak with the assistance of a 60 ton crane. We elected to call in the crane to move the material over the yard without causing any damage. The pieces of trunk wood weighed an average of 6,000 lbs! The tree exhibited serious dieback in the crown, visible cracking along the trunk, and had a significant lean toward the house. We worked in collaboration with Dirigo Tree Service of Freeport and our favorite crane operator to safely remove over 40,000 lbs of material with almost no impact on the lawn and gardens below.
